As principal at Fractal Strategies, I lead our narrative strategy, learning, and network engagement work. I guide our team to distill our clients’ complex challenges into manageable steps. My superpower is facilitating connections between people which can lead to fresh perspectives and new paths forward for our community partners.
I'm driven by authenticity when creating spaces for people to work, think, and act together. I believe in uncovering and challenging long-held beliefs that underly assumptions about what’s possible in our communities.
Prior to co-founding Fractal Strategies, I worked in grantmaking and philanthropy to create participatory structures and enhance the flow of resources to communities of color. In these roles, I built relationships with partners from different sectors of the community to collaborate on community development priorities. I’m also passionate about strengthening the neighborhood of Koreatown so that it can be a place of belonging for immigrant families. My work across these spaces is connected by a deep respect for every community's self-determination and allows me to lead with empathy and curiosity at Fractal Strategies.
Breanna Hawkins
Co-Founder and Principal
As principal at Fractal Strategies, I lead many of our research and community development projects. My superpower is sharing power with others, which supports the team to co-design strategies with those closest to the problem – as they are often closest to the solution.
I'm driven by radical transformation. I believe that the liberation of Black women will liberate us all. Because of this, I ensure the unique needs and priorities of Black communities are centered in our work.
Prior to joining Fractal Strategies I worked in public and nonprofit sectors for 15 years. In these roles, I led systems change initiatives at the nexus of community development and health equity. I’m also passionate about 90s R&B, mastering my soft girl aesthetic, Octavia Butler novels, and getting more fiber in my diet. Individual and collective wellness are the connective tissues that link these experiences together. Self love and self care are essential, but we cannot be well until the systems that make us unwell are transformed.
Anthony Kim
Consultant
As a Consultant at Fractal Strategies, I bring over a decade of expertise in digital storytelling, strategic communications, and community engagement, serving diverse sectors such as higher education, nonprofits, and public media.
My driving force is an insatiable curiosity about the world's past/present/future possibilities, paired with an unwavering commitment to bending the moral arc of the universe towards justice. I am passionate about the transformative power of storytelling and dedicated to helping clients craft compelling narratives that resonate deeply with audiences and inspire positive action.
My professional ethos is rooted in a spirit of radical recess and infuses playfulness, imagination, and teamwork into all dimensions of my work. This approach supports clients as they transform their foundational strategies into dynamic platforms where creativity and collaboration can flourish.
I am involved in the Asian American film and media scene as a writer, critic, and public speaker, and serve as a long-time contributor to the San Diego Asian Film Festival.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and a proud product of its public schools, I now call Koreatown home. I earned a B.A. Honors in Ethnic Studies and a Ph.D. in Literature from UC-San Diego.
Outside of work, I am an enthusiastic long-distance runner and noraebang aficionado.
Ashley Espinosa
Data and Research Fellow
As a Data and Research Fellow at Fractal Strategies, I provide extra support on projects as needed. My superpower is creating visuals such as charts and graphs to support the team to better understand the data we collect.
I'm driven by the ability to help individuals – whether systematically or personally. I believe in contributing to a better tomorrow and this motivates me to perform my best work to help clients with initiatives that align with our values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Outside of my role at Fractal Strategies, I am a full-time USC Master's student studying urban planning. I volunteer at CicLAvia and tutor local students. In these roles, I give back to the community I chose as my new home. I’m also passionate about public transportation. My work across these spaces is connected by creating community. I value my relationships with my colleagues and always strive to work together efficiently and harmoniously to achieve our goals.
Camille de la Vega
Communications Consultant
As the communications consultant for Fractal Strategies, I leverage over a decade in strategic communications to share the story of Fractal Strategies and our partners to inspire and effect change. My superpower is creating compelling and accessible narratives that resonate across diverse audiences, supporting Fractal Strategies to amplify our clients' impact and mobilize communities to take action.
I'm driven by a vision of a world where everyone has what they need to thrive, no matter their zip code or background. I believe in the power of storytelling to drive progress toward this vision, and I approach every project with thoughtfulness and care to ensure our communications and processes are in alignment with these values and goals.
Outside of Fractal Strategies, I’ve worked in various communications roles across the nonprofit sector, developing strategies for digital and traditional media, advocacy campaigns, and social justice initiatives. As an avid outdoorist and movement practitioner, I’m also deeply passionate about protecting the earth and advocating for personal and collective well-being. Underlying my interest across these spaces is my value for the heath of people and the planet and my belief in the transformative power of connection and belonging.
Imani Nicole Johnson
Client Coordinator
As Client Coordinator at Fractal Strategies, I streamline internal systems and processes that support the client lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, and integrate wellness into our operational practices. My superpower is anticipating the needs of team members, drawing from my experience in program management, finance, marketing, and communications, as well as breathwork and meditation practices, which supports the team to stay focused on clients and project deliverables, save time on administrative tasks, and prioritize health and wellness.
I'm driven by the values of balanced work, low stress, joy, and efficiency. I believe in maintaining a level-headed approach and finding ways to do more with less, which makes me more focused and intentional in solving problems to save time, deliver high-quality work, and ensure we have time for self-care. This aligns with Fractal Strategies' work to help organizations achieve their full potential and create meaningful collective community change by understanding and leveraging our strengths and skills for the greater good.
Outside of my role at Fractal Strategies, I have broad experience supporting founders and business leaders with project management, organization, and stakeholder engagement. I am a graduate of Spelman College with a B.A. in Psychology and hold a Master's in Social Entrepreneurship from the USC Marshall School of Business. In these roles, I have honed skills in breathwork, yoga, and strong interpersonal communication and relationship management.
I’m also passionate about my wellbeing center, Elemental Breath LA. My work across these spaces is connected by the underlying values of joy, ease, and self-awareness, and allows me to bring fulfillment and ease to our work at Fractal Strategies so we can do our best work to enact collective community change for our clients.
Jeanine Morrison
Project Manager
As a Project Manager at Fractal Strategies, I help keep the founders and team on track with critical deadlines, project milestones and on-time deliverables. I support them by reducing their administrative workload, identifying potential risks, and pitching in wherever needed. My superpower is flexibility, which supports the team to meet the ever-changing demands of our clients.
I am motivated by a desire to add value and help others reach their goals. I believe there is no task too small and no challenge too large for a great team. We do what we have to do to get the job done for our clients.
Prior to joining Fractal Strategies, I managed high profile accounts for a large manufacturer, I ran a real estate mortgage company, and I taught math to middle school students in Los Angeles Unified School District. My diverse work experience informs my approach to tackling challenges and guiding teams toward achieving project goals.

As an independent contractor at Fractal Strategies, I provide advisory review through the lens of my experience as a mental health practitioner. My superpower is cultivating empathy and deep listening, which supports the team to create tailored, human-centered solutions for clients' complex challenges.

Prior to joining Fractal Strategies, I worked extensively with diverse populations in both clinical and community settings, where I developed a strong foundation in trauma-informed care and cultural competence. I’m also passionate about providing education that is practical and impactful to help improve the mental health and wellness of my community. Senior Advisor
As a Senior Advisor at Fractal Strategies, I support the team by leveraging my legal expertise, broad experience in community advocacy and strategic planning to help clients dismantle racially biased systems and create equitable, sustainable communities. My superpower is promoting innovation, which enables me to engage with clients to develop insightful, transformative solutions that drive systemic change and have a lasting impact.
I am committed to social justice, equity, and the belief that everyone deserves to live in a community that is just, healthy, and thriving. I believe in the power of collaboration and community engagement, which are the key elements of my approach to advising organizations on how to create meaningful policy change. Prior to joining Fractal Strategies, I served as Deputy Director of PolicyLink, where I provided strategic planning, research, and technical assistance to public and private agencies and community-based organizations working to build healthy, equitable communities. As an attorney with over 30 years of experience, I’ve focused on housing, land use, and community economic development, always advocating for the legal rights of low-income communities. I’m also passionate about mentoring the next generation of leaders and have taught courses on fair housing, health policy, and community development at various academic institutions. My work across these spaces is connected by my determination to uplift marginalized voices and build inclusive communities. I strongly believe in the mission of Fractal Strategies and share their conviction that these approaches will create a more equitable society.
